INFO ON GAME CANCELLATIONS  & INCLEMENT WEATHER FROM Kathy Steen

Practices - when schools are closed early or for the entire day due to inclement weather (Mon-Fri) - the gyms are closed - No Practices, No Makeups.   Please remember....this does not change from one cancellation to the next.

Weekend Game Cancellations

1.  First and foremost, check websites for each league...most will post an updated message on game cancellations.

2.  If the Lakota district decides to close schools, I will contact leagues with Lakota team participation on our cancellations and they will (a) post a cancellation message on their website and/or (b) call in to channel 9 news to have the cancellation message added to the telestrator at the bottom of the screen.

3. I will contact our website coordinator to place a cancellation message on the Tbird website for applicable leagues/locations.  Tbird website http://www.tbirdhoops.org/default.htm

4. If another district(s) decides to cancel their scheduled games (road games) they will follow a similar process.

5. Court 4 Sports and Midwest Hoops (Sports Plus) can be contacted directly for game cancellations.

6.  Best way to be notified of all cancellations - is to review the TV cancellation messages displayed on channel 9 news.  You can also review cancellations on the channel 9 website (updated each 60 seconds): http://www.wcpo.com/default.aspx

CAYBL RULES REMINDERS

The CAYBL is asking the referees to be conscious of the requirement that only the head coach may stand during the game and address the referees. CAYBL refs will warn teams not following this guideline once. After that, violations will result in only two coaches being allowed to sit on the bench and all coaches remaining seated for the duration of the game.  We have to eliminate the instances of multiple coaches trying to speak to the referees. It slows down the game and is an unnecessary distraction for the refs. Click here to download CAYBL League Rules.

Reporting Game Scores

For all leagues, the WINNING team is responsible to report the final score to your league in a timely manner (we suggest reporting on the day of the game or the next day)

Again for 2016-2017

All head and assistant coaches will need to take the free On-Line State of Ohio Concussion training course to be able to coach a team this year.  Coaches will need to email a copy of their on-line training  certificate to Janet Habedank prior to equipment pickup on 11/1 (we recommend you provide the information no later than 10/21).  Parents to wish to help assist in games or practices are also required to take the training and register with the TBird coordinator.
