2019-20 registration for Boys grades 1-12 and Girls grades 1-12 will be open staring on August 1st until in-person assessments on Sept 14th.
There are three steps to sign up your player to play Thunderbird/Flight basketball and parents signing up to coach. All steps will send an email confirming the action is complete, if no email then the step is not complete.
Step 1: Make a master account on SI play starting from the TBird homepage at http://tbirdhoops.website.siplay.com/ You can get to the login 2 ways: select the "Register Family and Signup Players" pick under the "Sign Up" tab, or simply select the Login button in the upper right corner of our homepage. A parent must own the master account, no players. Fill out the required information and, once complete, you will receive an email letting you know the account is registered with SI Play.
Step 2: Log into your SI Play account and click on ACCOUNT SETTINGS. This is where you will add your players to the master account. Look for ADD CHILD on the right, click it and fill out the required information. This must be done for each child who is playing basketball. Once again for each child added you will receive an email confirming it. If no email is received, then you have not completed adding a child to your master account. If you wnat to add your spouse to use the same account, you can ADD ADULT (remember, your child will be associated with only 1 acount)
Step 3: Register your child to play basketball based on the grade level for the upcoming winter. At the same time parents will also be able to register to coach. Coaching and playing each use a shopping cart method to pay the fees. The coaching fee will be $0 but still requires the user to check out in the shopping cart. Once again all registered players and coaches will receive an email confirming this.
For new users with one child playing, you should receive three emails (one for account creation, one for adding child and one for registering child to play).
1. If you are trying out for FLIGHT SELECT, you MUST attend both open gym sessions, and in-person tryouts. See the home page for open gym and tryout times. See the information in the FLIGHT SELECT section down the page a little bit regarding registration requirements.
2. If you have played on a THUNDERBIRD team last year, and know you will be returning to the same team this year, you are not "required" to attend the in-person assessment, just sign up on line (however, you are encouraged to come to assessments to try on uniforms and to get any of your questions answered).

If you are new to the TBird organization OR do not plan to play for the same coach this year, you are strongly encouraged to attend the in-person assessments on September 14th in order to try on uniforms, participate in a short gym skills assessment (3 different stations), and get any questions you have answered. You are encouraged to register online prior to the assessments, although you will be allowed to sighup at assessments if needed (however, there may be a short delay in signing up at assessments depending on the number of people ahead of you).
3. Players in grades 7-12 (including those who plan to tryout for their school team) are STRONGLY encouraged to come to the September 14th assessments to sign up, try on uniforms, and participate in a short gym skills assessment (3 different stations),. The scores are important to allow coaches to form teams. In prior years we did not require 7-12 players to signup in September, only by the November deadline. Due to league deadlines to sign up teams, we need to process as many of the 7-12 graders as possible in September. If you signup now and make a school team, a full refund will be made.
FLIGHT SELECT represents the very best TBird players. These teams usually play in the CPYBL Athletic division. To play on a Flight team, you must pre-register on-line for FLIGHT SELECT prior to the MANDATORY August 24th tryouts. In addition, youare stongly encouraged to attend two open gyms on August 11th and August 18th (details on homepage). FLIGHT SELECT teams will be offered for Boys in grades 3,4,5,6 and for Girls in grades 3,4,5,6. The initial signup fee is $145. After tryouts, you will be notified if your child made a select team or not. If you make a team, there are additional fees for select teams to cover professional training, extra practice time, and a 20 game schedule. If you did not make a select team, you are eligible to apply your signup fee to be placed on a THUNDERBIRD team, or to get a refund. The select divisions are denoted by "SELECT" For example, boys 5th grade select basletball is "BOYS FLIGHT SELECT - 5TH". Choose the "SELECT" option when signing up.
THUNDERBIRD teams make up 90% of the TBird teams and are still considered very competitive basketball teams. These teams usually play in the CPYBL and High Rec and Rec divisions. The signup fee is $145, covering 1 practice per week, a 10 game season and a post season tournament. Teams will be formed for Boys in grades 1,2 (in-house league) and 3-12 (playing in CYPBL), and for Girls in grades 1,2 (in-house league) and 3-12 (playing in CYPBL). When signing up for a Thunderbird team, do NOT choose the "SELECT" option. For example, for the boys 5th grade Thunderbird team, choose "Boys - Grade 5".
Please note. B1-2 and G1-2 divisions are in-house leagues, intended to expose starting players to basketball with rules that are very forgiving at the start of the season, and get progressively more "real" as the season progresses. By the end of the season, the children are playing real basketball. We have specially trained referees for these divisions who conduct the progressive officiating for our program.

THUNDERBIRD grade 1-6 sign up fee $145. Full refund through Sept 22nd. Partial Refund of $130 ($145 less $15 processing fee) through Oct 5th. No refunds on or after Oct 6th.
FLIGHT Select grade 3-6 initial sign up fee is $145. If you accept a flight team position, no refund will be given after you accept. If you make a FLIGHT SELECT team, additional fees, between $135 & $155, will be due for training, extra practice, and a 20 game season.
THUNDERBIRD grade 7-12 sign up fee $145. Full refund through Nov 17th. No refund on or after Nov 18th.
FLIGHT SELECT grades 7 & 8 initial signup fee is $145 . If you accept a flight team position, no refund will be given after you accept. If you make a FLIGHT SELECT team, additional fees, between $135 & $155, will be due for training, extra practice, and a 20 game season.
